Most would think the jobs boom in the United States would benefit the coastal regions, but after taking a look at the data, the Midwest is actually on top
Out of the top 20 metro areas where the unemployment rates are close to half of the national average or less, 15 are in the Midwest. Iowa and Idaho had eight spots on the Best 20 Job Markets chart, evaluated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The healthy economic outlook in the Midwest is shown by the low unemployment rate in several metro regions. Ames, Iowa, has an unemployment rate of 1.7 percent. The 19 other regions in the report are between 2 and 2.4 percent unemployment. Yuma, Arizona, has the highest jobless rate in the US with 22 percent.
