When you meet the U.S. Consul, it may be necessary to show proof of your work experience. According to USAFIS, “If you do not meet the education requirements to apply for your Diversity Visa to the United States, you will need to prove qualifying work experience.”
This requirement includes two years of acceptable work experience during the past five years in a qualifying occupation as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor. The two years of employment should have required at least two years of experience or training that is identified as Job Zone 4 or 5, and which is classified at a Specific Vocational Preparation (SVP) rating of at least 7.0.
